If I have reasonable expectations of finding something nice there, I would go (many hours of driving, plus crossing the US borders...). With all those Steinways around, I would feel like a kid in a candy store...

Thanks a lot. I live in Canada... I will ask the technician to do a thorough verification of the points you mentioned. I have heard that old Bechsteins tended to have plank and "false octave" problems, but I guess that is it all depends on many factors.
